Workshops
Asha Devi and Shakti Gobal Fusion Bellydance
Asha Devi and Shakti Gobal Fusion Bellydance will also be providing an onsite workshop.
Shakti in Hindi means the power, the force, the energy. The source of all, the universal principal of creativity.
Global Fusion Bellydance company located in Memphis, TN, under the
direction of professional bellydance performer and instructor Asha Devi.
Shakti Bellydance is the premiere global dance group in the area, fusing
the many types of bellydance with various world dance and drums, and
culminating in an explosion of sight and sound!
Drum Circle
Wils will be presenting a workshop on drum circles.
In 1991, during testimony before the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging, Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart stated:
"Typically, people gather to drum in drum "circles" with others from the surrounding community. The drum circle offers equality because there is no head or tail. It includes people of all ages. The main objective is to share rhythm and get in tune with each other and themselves. To form a group consciousness. To entrain and resonate. By entrainment, I mean that a new voice, a collective voice, emerges from the group as they drum together."
We hope that each of you will come and join with us in this celebration of community.
Spiritual Diversity Workshops
Our spiritual diversity workshops will include Islam, Native American Shamanism, NeoPagan Spirituality, Hinduism, and more.
